Mechanics
Black text on a coloured card? Say the background colour — not the word written on it.
Coloured text on a white card? Say the colour of the text — not the background.
The word "FUCK" appears? You NEVER say it. Apply the colour rules instead.
Every time a player says the wrong thing — and they will — the first person to slap the top of the pile wins all those cards. This single rule turns a simple colour game into an escalating, chaotic mess of slapping hands, wrong words, and helpless laughter.
The slap happens fast. By round three, nobody's following the rules — they're just reacting. Reflexes override reason. That's the Stroop Effect doing exactly what it promises.
It sounds simple. It is not.
The origin
Bela is an Australian mum who got properly bored of game night. The usual suspects — Monopoly arguments, Scrabble silences, someone's partner who "doesn't really play games" — she'd had enough. So she built F**k. The Game instead: a colour-word brain scrambler that turns adults into incompetent messes within minutes.
That was over a decade ago. Since then, FTG has sold thousands of copies across three continents on word of mouth alone. No marketing budget. No PR agency. Just a genuinely good game that people keep buying for their friends.
Bela still runs the whole operation herself from Perth, Western Australia.
